Friday Finds: Sore Knees

Hello everyone, I hope you've had a good week. I know that there are at least 10 of your now following me (and I am beyond excited about that. Yes, I know I'm lame...) This week I was subject to the near-torture of healing sore muscles from my dance workshop last weekend. Learning a new style of dance was incredibly fun (so fun, that I had no sense of control, and totally overdid it with the dance - limbs fly when you're having fun) but also incredibly painful the day after, and the day after that. I'm still wincing every time I bend over or sit on my knees. BUT I CAN MOVE NOW, which is more than I could say on Monday.

It's time to break out the winter-date list for Max and I. This craft is definitely going to be on it

I'm not normally a fan of scrap booking in the traditional sense, but this scrapbook knocks my socks off. It's gorgeous!!

I love this letter Scott F. Fitzgerald wrote to his 11 year old daughter.

This is an artistic rendering of what Leonardo Da Vinci might have looked like when he was young...wow...

I love Philippa Rice's work. This new comic of hers I especially love - and it's totally not because the girl is like a carbon copy of me...not at all /sarcasm.

I laughed and cried when I watched this video. It's probably the best thing you could watch today.

I am decorating my next sketchbook like this. So easy, yet so awesome.

I'm joining in (late, but hey!) on this fantastic craftalong. You should, too (I'm sure there will be a winter semester, as well).

Carson Ellis is one of my favourite Illustrators. And her tumblr is fantastic!

I wish every day could look like Reluin's artwork...

Friday Finds: First Snow

(please note: I'm finding more than five things that are awesome on the internet now. Take Five Friday is now Friday Finds, and will be tagged as such. I'm happy to provide you with more links to waste your time with. :P Nah, I kid - they're all gold - enjoy!!)

It's snowing today. Or, well, I woke up to that magical stillness that can only mean one thing: that wonderful white blanket of snow carpeting the ground. And although the rest of the town is complaining (customary Canadian behavior, apparently) I'm celebrating. I've been waiting for winter for a while now - so I'm happy it's decided to start to come out of hiding (although, knowing the volatility of the weather around here, it will disappear and reappear MULTIPLE times before it finally sticks).

This weekend is slated to be a busy one - I have a huge dance workshop for the whole of it - which means I'm probably not going to even manage to type without causing severe muscle pain due to how hard we work. But I'm cool with it - dance is too awesome to not suffer sometimes, right?

Anyway, here are some things I've found this week for your bloggy-reading enjoyment.

Everyone should read and follow this tumblr.

These pieces of art, by Christian Schloe are absolutely stunning.

I am in love with this etsy store this week. Those leaf prints = perfection.

Instant Chai Tea mix recipe/DIY? Yes please!

I love this post by Jes about being categorized - own it, girl!

I'm doing Nanowrimo this year - are you?

I'm seriously digging this podcast series. It's hilarious.

This week has been a fairly dull week for me. We had to put our 18 year old dog to sleep this week, and the weather has been gloomier than a mailbox on a Sunday. I've spent it inside, full of blankets, eagerly awaiting a shipment of new teas for me to drink obsessively until this weather passes. I got them yesterday - commence tea drinking.

Here's five fun Friday-things for you. Enjoy!

My friend Brooke got a Cochlear Implant this summer. Here's a fascinating blog where she shares her experience.

This graphic cracks me up. I admit, I'm a cliffhanger.

These Illustrations by Emma Block are stunning!

Kyla's article on Passion is a really great read, especially if you're stuttering creatively.

Origami jewelry? I think so.

Take Five Friday: Be right back!!

Off to the craft fair tomorrow. Really feeling nervous and excited, all at the same time. It's a really great opportunity, and although there are tons of worries and fears floating on in my head, I. Am. So. Excited. And that feels right.

While I'm away, here's a fantastic set of five links for your enjoyment while I'm away!

Check out these fantastic photographs of glittering ink clouds from the artist Albert Seveso.

Do you find yourself suffering from anxiety? Here are some fantastic phrases for preparing for, dealing with and preventing anxiety. I think we could all use at least one of these now and again!

Care for some Cliteracy? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this art project!!

Check out this fantastic necklace pendant DIY. So many options, and SO EASY to do.

This picture makes me swoon.
